Seventeenth-century British Poetry, 1603-1660

Twenty-nine poets writing from the 1603 ascension of James I, the first Stuart King, and the Restoration of the monarchy in 1660, are included in this Norton Critical Edition. A time of political and social unrest in England, this period produced some of the greatest poetry in English.
